ANSWER:

  • Number of Candies = 9
  • Number of Toffees = 12

GIVEN:

  • Ratio of candies to toffees is 3:4
  • Total number of sweets in the tin = 21

TO FIND:

  • Number of candies in the tin.

SOLUTION:

Let the ratio of candies and toffees be 3x and 4x

Total number of sweets in the tin = 21

According to the Question:

=> 3x+4x = 21

=> 7x = 21

=> x = 21/7

=> x = 3

Number of Candies = 3x

= 3(3)

= 9

Number of Toffees = 4x

= 4(3)

= 12

  • Number of Candies = 9
  • Number of Toffees = 12
