Concept:
Addition is a commutative mathematical operation for whole numbers, integers, rational numbers and real numbers.
Given:
Addition is commutative for whole numbers.
Find:
Verify above statement by paper cutting and pasting for 3 and 4.
Solution:
Addition is commutative if for all p and q numbers if p+q = q+p
The given numbers are 3 and 4.
In two columns there are 10 cutted papers. '
For first column, firstly we colored 3 paper cuttings Orange and colored 4 paper cuttings Green.
So total of 7 paper cuttings are colored.
3+4 = 7
In second column , we first colored Green 4 paper cuttings and then orange 3 paper cuttings.
4+3 = 7
Hence, addition is commutative for whole numbers.
