Tomatoes are red because of the present of a different type of plastid i.e chromolpast while in leaves a different plastid called chloroplast is present . Plant cells contain an additional outer layer called cell wall which provides this rigidity to the plants because they have to face the harsh outer conditions .

Explanation:

Plant cell are more rigid then animal cell coz plant cells contains cell wall where as there is absence of cell wall in animal cell. Cell wall is made up of cellulose. It gives plant cell it's shape.
