12,098 nails are packed in 16 boxes.

So,

16 ) 12098 ( 756

112

89

80

98

96

2

On dividing 12098 by 16, we get-

Quotient = 756

Remainder = 2

So, number of nails in each box = quotient = 756

and nails left over = remainder = 2

Hence, each box will have 756 nails and 2 nails will be left over.
