a total of 280 marbles is to be divided among three children karan,rahin and kiran respectively in ratio 2:5:7 . find the differance in the number of marbles kiran and karan

Answer:

Let common multiple be x.

According to condition:

marbles with karan = 2x

rahin = 5x

Kiran = 7x

2x + 5x + 7x = 280

14x = 280

x = 280/14

x = 20

marbles with Kiran= 7x = 140

marbles with karan= 2x = 40

difference=140-40= 100
