A total of 512 seeds are collected from the cross between AaBb❌AaBb. Find the number of plants producer with genotype AAbb and Aabb.​

We need to find the plants which will be phenotypically dominant for the first trait and phenotypically recessive for the second trait.

So, the plant can be heterozygous or homozygous dominant for the A trait, and homozygous recessive for the B trait.

Thus, the desirable genotypes will be : AAbb, and Aabb. Now, I'll draw a Punnett square below to calculate the probability of different genotypes..

There are two plants with Aabb, and one plant with AAbb, out of a total 16 plants.

It is also clear that the probability of the desirable genotypes = 3/16

Out of the 512 seeds, number of seeds with these 2 desirable genotypes = 3/16*512 = 96 (exactly)

Thus, 96 plants will have the first dominant and second recessive phenotypic traits.
