Average speed = 85 kmph
Distance from town a to b = 340 km
Time it reached at town B = 1:15 pm
So time taken = 340/85 hr = 4 hrs
Therefore starting time = 13:15-4:00hrs = 9:15 am

Answer:

91:5 a.m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

  • A tourist bus left town A.
  • It travelled at an average speed of 85 km/hr to town B.
  • Town B was 340 km away.
  • The bus reached town B at 1:15 p.m.

To Find: The time at which the Bus started from town A

Explanation:

  • To solve this question we need to know about the basic relationship between Distance, Average Velocity and Time.
  • basic relationship between Distance, Average Velocity and Time.(Distance/Time) = Average Velocity
  • Here, we will have to calculate the Time taken, and then subtract it from 1:15 p.m.
  • \frac{340}{85} = 4
  • That is, the bus has taken 4hours to reach from town A to town B.
  • As it reached town B at 1:15p.m., then it started from town A 4 hours before 1:15 p.m. which is 9:15 a.m.
