A tower is 50m high. Its shadow is x cm shorter when the Sun's Altitude is 450 than when it is 300. Find x correct to the nearest cm

SOLUTION:--


tan 45=AB/BC

BC=50

 

Now, tan 30=AB/BD

    1/root 3=50/50+x

   root 3=50+x/50

   50root3=50 +x

   50(root3-1)=x

   x= 50(0.732)

 x = 36.6 m

Dear user -

we know that tan45=AB/BC

so BC=50

tan30=AB/BD

 \frac{1}{ \sqrt{3} }  =  \frac{50}{50} x

 \sqrt{3}  =  \frac{50 + x}{50}


50 \sqrt{3}  = 50 + x
x=> 50(0.732)


x=>36.6m
