Given :-

  • A town population is 400000.

  • In which 40% males,

  • 40% females and rest are children.

To Find :-

  • Find the number of  children?

Solution :-

  • Total population of the town = 400000

  • Percentage of male in the town = 40%

  • Percentage of female in the town 40%

  • ∴ Percentage of children in the town = 100 - ( 40 + 40 )

                                                                      = 100 - 80

                                                                      = 20%

  • ∴ Number of children in the town = \sf{\frac{20}{100}\:x\:\ 400000

                                                                 = 80000

Ans. There are 80000 children in the town.
