A toy balloon originally held 1.0 gm of He gas and had a radius 10 cm. During the night
the gas effused from the balloon. Assuming ideal gas behavior, under these constant
conditions, what was the radius of the balloon the next morning?

Answer:

Balloon is a sphere whose volume is 4/3* r3

1gm He gas occupies the volume = 4/3* 10*10*10

So, 0.75gm gas( left after diffusion) will occupy the volume

= 4/3* 10*10*10* 0.75

The volume of balloon after diffusion:

4/3* r3 = 4/3 *10*10*10*0.75

r3 = 750

r = 9.08cm
