Step-by-step explanation:

Total surface area is 214.5cm²

Given :

  • Radius of the cone = 3.5cm (hemisphere)
  • Height of the toy = 15.5cm

To find :

  • T. S. A. of the toy

Solution :

  • We need to find the C. S. A. of the hemisphere and the C. S. A. of cone for the T. S. A.

We know that,

➡️ T. S. A. of the toy :

C. S. A. of the hemisphere + C. S. A. of the cone

\therefore Slant height = √h² + r²

= √(3.5)² + (12)²

= √12.25 + 144

= √156.25

= 12.5cm

Now

➡️ T. S. A. of the toy = 2πr² + πrl

= 2π(3.5)² + π(3.5)(12.5)

= 24.5π + 43.75π

= 68.25 × 22/7

= 214.5cm² ans.
