Answer:

Total profit on selling 1 electronic toy = 5 Rs

Total loss on selling 1 soft toy = 2 Rs

a) So Total profit on selling 100 electronic toys = 5*100 = 500Rs

And Total loss on selling 300 soft toys = 2*100 = 200 Rs

And 500 - 200 = 300 Rs

So he is in overall profit of 300 Rs

b) Let the number of soft toys be x

So Total loss on selling x number of toys = 2*x = 2x

And Total profit on selling 200 electronic toys = 5*200 = 1000

And 1000 - 2x = 0

= -2x = -1000

= x = 500

Hence he should sell 500 soft toys to have no profit or loss.
