Answer:

  • 5m/s is the required velocity .

Explanation:

According to the Question

It is given that,

  • Initial velocity of tractor ,u = 3m/s
  • Time taken ,t = 2s
  • Acceleration ,a = 1m/s²

we have to calculate the final velocity of the tractor .

Also, we have provided initial velocity , acceleration and time taken .

For calculating the velocity of tractor we will apply here the kinematics equation .

  • v = u + at

by putting the given value we get

↠ v = 3 + 2×1

↠ v = 3 + 2

↠v = 5 m/s

  • Hence, the velocity at the end of this time will be 5 m/s.

Solution

Initial Velocity (u) = 3m/s

Acceleration (a) = 1m/s²

Time (t) = 2second

Final Velocity (v) = ???

To find final velocity there are two equations of motion:-

  • v = u + at (1st eqⁿ)
  • v² = u² + 2as (3rd eqⁿ)

If we will use 3rd eqⁿ then we should have the displacement i.e. s, but we are given only u, a and t. So, we will use 1st equation.

v = u + at

Putting values in the above formula, we get

⟼ v = 3 + 1(2)

Multiplying to get 2

⟼ v = 3 + 2

Adding to get 5

⟼ v = 5m/s

∴ Final velocity of the tractor is 5m/s

∴ Velocity of the tractor at the end of 2second will be 5m/s.

Some Important Equations of Kinematics

  • v = u + at
  • s = ut + ½ at²
  • v² = u² + 2as
  • v = u + gt
  • h = ut + ½ gt²
  • v² = u² + 2gh

where,

v denotes Final velocity

u denotes Initial velocity

a denotes Acceleration

t denotes Time

s denotes Displacement

g denotes Acceleration due to gravity

h denotes height.
