A tractor wheel is large and wide because to reduce the pressure on the ground in order to prevent wheels sinking in to the soft place
Large and wide tyres have large surface area .
Pressure is inversely proportional to the surface area

A tractor is a heavy vehicle. It exerts a large pressure on the earth. To reduce this pressure, tractor wheels are wide as pressure is inversely proportional to area. More the area less the pressure.
