Let the marked price of an
article = Rs x
Successive discount:
d1= 30% , d2 = 10%
Selling price = Rs1000[given]
=> x[(100-d1)/100][(100-d2)/100] = 1000
=>x[(100-30)/100][(100-10)/100]=1000
=> x*(70/100)(90/100)=1000
=> x = 1000×(100/70)(100/90)
= (1000×100)/63
= Rs1587.30
Therefore,
Marked price of the article
= x = Rs 1587.30
