Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume that the marked price of the bicycle be X.

According to the question the selling price of the bicycle is X-25% of X which is equal to  2500 - 8% of 2500.

∴ X-25% of X= 2500-8% of 2500.

This is because since the bicycle was purchased for Rs. 2500. On selling the bicycle the trader made a loss of  8% ( as a discount of 25% was offered on marked price by him to the customer).

∴  25% of marked price =  2500- 8% of 2500

∴ X – 25X/100 = 2500 – 2500 x 8/100

(100X-25X)/100 = 2500 – 200

75X/100 = 2300

75X = 230000

X = 3066.66667

The nearest rupee would be Rs 3067/-

∴ The marked price of the bicycle is Rs. 3067/-.

Hope this helps.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume that the marked price of the bicycle is X.

According to the question, the selling price of the bicycle is X-25% of X which is equal to  2500 - 8% of 2500.

75X = 230000

X = 3066.66667

The nearest rupee would be Rs 3067/-

∴ The marked price of the bicycle is Rs. 3067/-.

Hope this helps.
