1)Increase% -- decrease% -- (increase%*decrease%/100).

So,

80 -- 20 -- (80*20/100).

80-20-16= 44%( which is +ve which 44% increase).

2)B) Rs.4,000

3)D)

Answer:

A trader dealing in pressure cookers reduced the price by 20% as a result of which his sale went up to 80 % What was the net effect on his sales income?

(A) 44% decrease

(B) 44% increase☑️☑️

(C) 66% increase

(D) 66% decase

Solution :- overall effect = -20+80-20*80/100 = 44% inc (B)

A rectangular field has its length and breadth in the ratio 5:3. It's area is 3.75 hectars. Find the cost of fencing it at rupees 5 per metre.

(A) 400

(B) 4000☑️☑️

(C)1000

(D) 500

Solution :-

Let l & b = 5x and 3x

15x² ------- 3.75 hect = 37500m²

-------- 2500m²

x --------- 50m

so, l = 250m & b = 150m

perimeter = 2(l+b) = 800m

cost of fencing = 800*5 = 4000 (B) (Ans)

What must be added to y^2 + 5y-6 to get y^3-y^2+3y-2

(A) y^2-2y+4

(B) y^3- 2y² - 2y + 4 ☑️☑️

(C) y^3 +2y^2- 2y +4

(D) -y^3-2y^2 +2y -4

solution :-

(-y²+3y-2)-(+5y-6) = -2y²-2y+4 (B) (Ans)
