let say cost prize= cp ,profit %=25

sp=1.25cp

nw new cp=0.9cp, sp=(1.25-2) p%=25

sp=125%cp

Answer:

The actual price of the article is Rs 16.

Explanation:

Given:

Profit=25%

To find:

The actual cost of the article=?

Solution:

S.P=1.25C.P.  ..(1)

We know that C.P. is 10% less

0.9 C.P. and S.P. are Rs 2 less ⇒ (S.P. -2).

Still, profit is 25% ⇒ (S.P. – 2) =1.25

(0.9 C.P.), where S.P. = 1.25 C.P. [From equation (i)]

C.P. = Rs 16

Therefore, the actual price of the article is Rs 16.
