A trader made some transactions and we here find out total of sales book:

  • In sales book debit and credit both total will be always same.
  • To find out the total of sales book we considered any one side of summation.

Here, following transactions effect in sales book is as below:

a. Goods sold to Rasheed ₹ 8,000.

  • Goods sold to person name of rasheed will credited in sales book.
  • So, in sales book this transaction effect will be credit side by 8,000

b.Goods sold to Prajith for Cash ₹ 10,000.

  • Goods sold to person name of prajith by cash will credited in sales book.
  • So, in sales book this transaction effect will be credit side by 10,000.

c.Goods sold on credit to Thomas ₹ 25,000.

  • Goods sold to person name of thomas by credit sales will credited in sales book.
  • So, in sales book this transaction effect will be credit side by 25,000 in name of thomas.

d.Machinery sold to Dinesh on credit ₹ 40,000.

  • Machinery sold to person name of dinesh by credit will debited in machinery account.
  • So, in sales book this transaction will be no effect.

So, Total of sales book = 10,000 + 8,000 + 25,000

= 43,000
