A trader mixes 2 kg of butter which costs 500 per kg with 3 kg of butter which costs 420 kg. He sells the mixture at 150 per 250 g. Express his profit as a percentage of his selling

kg= 2x 500 = 1000 rupees

Price of 3 kg of butter which costs Rupees 420 per

Kg= 3x 420 = 1260 rupees

total Price = 1000+1260 = 2260 rupees

now..,

price of mixed butter which costs rupees 150 per

250 gm so rupees 600 per kg

(since 250x4=1000g)

and 1000g= 1 Kg.

so price of total mixed butter = 600x5 = rupees 3000

Now.,

cost price = ruppes 2260

and selling price = ruppes 3000

gain = (S.P-C.P)

= 3000-2260

= ruppes 740

now profit as Persantage

= gain/S.P x 100

= 740/3000 x 100

= 22.66%
