marked price=X+25%of X

=X+25/100*X

=X+X/4

=(4x+X)/4=5x/4

now marked price =5x/4

discount =12% of 5x/4

=12/100*5x/4

=3x/20

selling price=marked price- discount

=5x/4-3x/20

=(25x-3x)/20

=22x/20

now sp=22x/20,. cp=X

gain=sp-cp

=22x/20-x

=(22x-20x)/20

=2x/20

gain%=gain/cp*100

=2x/20*1/X*100

=10%
