A train 110m long is moving with a velocity of 72km/h. find the time it takes to cross the bridge 1km long.

heya...

here velocity of the train,

u=72km/hr

=72 × (1000m) × (3600/s) = 20m/s

In order to cross the bridge, train has to cover a distance equal to the bridge and and the length of the train,i.e.,

S = 1km + 100m = 1100m

therefore, time taken by the train to cross the bridge,

t = S/u

t = 1100/20 = 55s.
