first train

train = 120 m

cross a pole = 10 s

speed = distance / time

speed = 120 / 10

speed = 12 m/s

second train

train = 80 m

speed = 28 m/s

formula

crosses each other = distance first + distance second/ speed first + speed second

(120 + 80 ) m / (12 + 28 ) m/s

200 / 40 = 5 second . ans

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Concept:

Speed definition:

The speed at which an object's location changes in any direction. The distance travelled in relation to the time it took to travel that distance is how speed is defined.

Formula for speed:

Speed= distance/time

Distance definition:

The size or extent of the displacement between two points is referred to as distance. Keep in mind that the distance between two points and the distance travelled between them are not the same. The length of the entire journey taken to get from one point to another is the distance travelled. Travel distance is not a vector.

Time definition:

It is possible to define time as the dimension on which any system evolves. Its length can be expressed in terms of milliseconds, seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years.

Given:

Distance of Train(D1) =120m

Distance of Train(D2) =80m

Speed of Train(S2)=28m/s

cross a pole=10s

Find:

We have to find the how much time it will take to cross a train 80 m long coming from the opposite direction at a speed of 28 metres per second.

Solution:

Given that Distance of Train(D1) =120m

                 Distance of Train(D2) =80m

                 Speed of Train(S2)=28m/s

                 cross a pole(Time)=10s

We know that

speed = distance / time

speed= D1/time

speed = 120 / 10

speed = 12 m/s

We know that the formula

Cross each other = distance(D1) + distance (D2)/ speed(S1) + speed(S2)

                             = (120 + 80 ) m / (12 + 28 ) m/s

                             = 200 / 40s

                             =5s

It will take 5s time to cross a train.
