Answer:

11 second

Given:

A train covered 120m and 160m in 14 second

To find:How long will it take to pass another platform

Solution:-

Total distance covered=120+160

=280 m

Time taken=14 sec

We know that

speed =  \frac{distance}{speed}

 \frac{280}{14} = 20 \: m {s}^{ - 1}

In another platform it take 100m

Total distance=120+100

=220 m

time \: taken =  \frac{220}{20}

 = 11 \: sec

__________

Therefore it take 11 sec to pass another platform

Given :-

The train had covered the distance 120 m in 160 m long platform in 14 sec.

To Find :-

How long will it take to pass another platform if it is 100 m long.

Solution :-

Total Distance covered by train = 120 + 160 m = 280 m

Time Taken by train to covered the distance = 14 sec

Speed = Distance/ time

Speed = 280 / 14

= 20 m/s

When the platform is 100 m long

The distance covered = 100 + 120 = 220 m

Speed = Distance/Time

Time = Distance / speed

= 220 / 20

= 11 sec

Therefore, the train will take 11 sec to pass through 100 m long platform.
