Given:-

  • A train 120m long passes a railway platform.
  • Length of train (Distance) = 160m.
  • Time taken by the train (t) = 8 sec.

To find:-

  • Find how long will it take to pass another platform 100m long.?

Solutions:-

We have given that;

  • Distance = 160 + 120 = 280
  • Time taken = 8 sec

According to the questions;

Speed => Distance/Time

Speed => 280/8

Speed => 35m/s

  • New Distance = 100m
  • Speed = 35m/s

Time => Distance/Speed

Time => 100/35

Time => 2.85sec

Hence, the train covered the 100m distance is 2.85 second.

Some Important:-

  • Distance => Speed/Time
  • Speed => Distance/Time
  • Time => Distance/Speed

Units:-

  • Time = sec, min, hours
  • Distance = meter, kilometre
  • Speed = km/hr, min/sec
