Answer:

Given:

Length of the train = 150 m

Speed of the train = 72 km/hr

Time to cross the bridge = 13 seconds

To find:

Length of the bridge =?

Solution:

The length of the train travelling is 150 m

The velocity with which it is travelling is 72 km/h.

The time required by the train to cross the bridge is 13 seconds.

Total distance traveled by train = 150+x

Time = 13 second

Speed = 72 km/hr = 20 m/s

the length of the bridge is 110m.

Answer:

We can solve using this equation:

(length of bridge + length of train) = speed of train * time to cross bridge

So:x + 150 = 72km/h * 13s

Convert 72km/h to m/s => 72000m/3600s => 20m/s (speed of train)

Now, solve:

x + 150m = 20m/s *13s => x + 150m = 260m => x = 260m - 150m => x = 110m (length of bridge)
