EXPLANATION.

  • GIVEN

A train 180 m long is moving at 35 km/hr.

another train moving in the opposite direction

at 25 km/h along a parallel track passes by it in

18 seconds.

Find the length of the second train.

according to the question,

Let length of another train be = x

Distance = 180 + x

Speed = 35 + 25 = 60 km/hr

=> 60 X 5 / 18 = 50 / 3 m/s

Time = 18 seconds.

Distance = Speed X Time.

=> 180 + x = 50/3 X 18

=> 180 + x = 300

=> x = 120 m

Therefore,

The length of second train = 120 m
