Given :

A train 200 metres long and travelling at a speed of 60 km / h will cross a pole

To Find :

Time taken

Solution:

Length of train = 200 m

Speed of train = 60 km/hr

1 km =1000 m

1 hour = 3600 sec

So,Speed of train = 60 \times \frac{1000}{3600}=\frac{50}{3}

We are supposed to find the time taken to cross the pole

So,Time = \frac{Distance}{Speed}

Time = \frac{200}{\frac{50}{3}}

Time =12

Hence It will take 12 seconds to cross a pole.
