A train 280 m long is moving at a speed of 60 km/hr. What is the time taken by it to
cross a platform 220 m long?

Length of train = 280 m

length of platform = 220 m

total distance:

total distance of ( train + platform )

= 280 + 220 = 500 m

speed of train = 60 km / hr

since ,the distance is given in ' m' so then

convert sd.from km/ hr to m/ s:

speed = 60 km/ hr = 60 × 5/ 18

speed = 300/ 18 m/ s

Find the time:

---------------------

time taken = total distance / speed

= 500 / 300 / 18 = (500 × 18 ) / 300

= 30 seconds

Answer: time taken by

train to cross the platform= 30 seconds
