A train 280 metres long is running at a speed of 42 km/hr. How much time will
take to pass a man standing on a platform?

HEY MATE

Given, speed of the train = 42 km/h

= 42 * (5/18) m/s

[Since x km/hr = (x * 5/18) m/s]

= (42 * 5)/18

= (7 * 5)/3

= 35/3 m/s

Distance moved in passing the standing man = length of the train = 280 m

Now, required time taken = Distance/speed

= 280/(35/3)

= (280 * 3)/35

= 8 * 3

= 24 seconds
