We need to convert 42 km/hr to m/s

42km/hr = 42 × 5/18m/s = 35/3m/s

The question seems confusing but if you see practically then the distance required to cross the man = length of the train.

So we have distance = 280m
Speed = 35/3 m/s

So clearly we know that,
time = distance/speed

=> time = 280/(35/3)

=> time = 280 ÷ 35/3

=> time = 280 × 3/35

=>time = 24 second

Hope it helps dear friend ☺️✌️

\textbf{Hey dearest } !

_________________________

Distance = 280 m \\ \\ Speed = 42 km/h \\ \\ Speed = 700m / 60s \\ \\ Time = \frac{Distance}{Speed} \\ \\ Time = 280 × \frac{60}{700} \\ \\ Time = \frac{16800}{700} \\ \\ Time = 24 \: seconds
