Is it 40 sec

Because net length the train has to travel =360+140= 500m

Speed = 40km/hrs=12.5m/sec

Time = dist/speed = 500/12.5 = 40sec

Answer:

40 seconds

Explanation:

Time taken by the head of the train to travel 360 m i.e., the length of the train

Time = Distance / Speed

\text{Time}=\frac{360}{\frac{45}{3.6}}=28.8\ s

\text{Time}=\frac{140}{\frac{45}{3.6}}=11.2\ s

Time taken by the head of the train to cover 140 m is 11.2 seconds

Time taken to cross the bridge will be the time from when the head of train will enter the platform to the time taken by the tail to leave the platform.

So, total time for the entire length of the train to cross the platform is 28.8+11.2 = 40 seconds
