In order to solve the problem,we have to calculate the speeds of both the trains separately.

the train having higher speed will have travelled faster.

(I) we know that:

$\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \bold{speed = \frac{distance \: travelled}{time \: taken}}$

Now,

$\: \: \: \: \: \mathrm{distance \: travelled \: by \: train \: A = 120km}$

And,

$\: \: \: \: \: \mathrm{time \: taken \: by \: train \: A= 3h}$

so,

$\: \: \: \: \: \: \mathrm{speed \: of \: train \: A = \frac{120 \: km}{3h}}$

,$\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \mathrm{ = 40 \: km\h}$

thus,the speed of train A is 40 kilometres per hour.

(ii) Again,

$\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \bold{speed = \frac{distance \: travelled}{time \: taken}}$

Now,

$\: \: \: \: \: \: \mathrm{distance \: travelled \: by \: train \: B = 180 \: km}$

And,

$\: \: \: \: \: \: \mathrm{time \: taken \: by \: train \: B= 4h}$

so,

$\: \: \: \: \: \: \mathrm{speed \: of \: train \: B = \frac{180km}{4h}}$

$\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \mathrm{ = 45km\h}$

Answer:

= 40 km/hr. Time Taken = 4hrs.

▶So ,the train that travelled a distance of 180 km in 4 hrs had moved faster as compared to the train that travelled a distance of 120 km in 3 hrs.
