a train A travels a distance of 120km in 3h whereas another train D travels a distance of 180km in 4h which train travels faster?

please can anyone give answer for this question with steps?

Distance is the length of the path covered by an object.

The distance travelled by a body per unit time is called speed.

In the following question we have to find out the speed of the train and compare that which train is faster.

⛧To find out the speed we have to use the formula .

speed = distance/time

So Distance covered by 1st train = 120 km.

Time taken =3 hrs

speed = 120km/3hr

= 40 km/hr.

Now ..

Distance covered by 2nd train = 180 km

Time Taken = 4hrs.

speed = 180km/4hr

= 45km/ hr

By comparison we have

45 km/hr >40 km /hr

So ,the train that travelled a distance of 180 km in 4 hrs had moved faster as compared to the train that travelled a distance of 120 km in 3 hrs.
