Distance traveled by the sound ( train to tunnel and tunnel to train ) is 2 * 1.665 Km.

Speed=Distance / time

avani811: distande traelled by sound which u have taken as 340 × 9 should by (340×9)/2. Since when echo is heard, 2d= Vt
avani811: so according to me the speed of train then should be 15m/s

Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

The speed of the train will be 30 m/s.

● Explanation -

Total distance travelled by sound is 9 × 340 = 3060 m.

Thus distance travelled by train in this time is 2×1665 - 3060 = 270 m.

Speed of the train thus will be 270/9 = 30 m/s.

Thanks dear. Hope this is helpful to you...
