A train at rest attains velocity of 40 km/h in 15 minutes in uniform acceleration. Find its acceleration in km/h.

u = 0

v = 40 km/h

t = 15 minutes = 15 / 60 h = 1/4 h

we know that, v = u+at

or,                    a = (v-u)/t

therefore,        a = (40-0) / (1/4)

                           = 40 * 4

                           = 160 km/h^2
