a train covered a certain distance at a uniform speed. if the train had been 10km/h , it would have taken 2 hrs less than the scheduled time. and if the train were slower by 10 km/h it would have taken 3 hrs more than the scheduled time . find the distance covered by the train.

let speed of train be x km/hr and actual time be y hrs. then distance will be xy km
as per question we get 2 eqns as 2x-10y= -20 and 3x-10y=30
by solving eqns. we get x=50 km/hr and y=12hrs. then distance =600 km
