Hey,

Know that speed is the distance covered by a moving object (a train in your case) in a unit time taken. It is a scalar quantity and hence can be represented by magnitude not direction. In other words, speed of an object is the rate of change of distance with time

Speed = distance traveled ÷ time taken

Distance = 504 km

Time = 4.5 hrs

Speed = (504÷4.5) km/hr

= 112 km/hr

But the SI Units of speed is m/s.

Noting that:

1km = 1000m, and

1 hr = 60 m = 3600 s

Therefore,

Speed = 112×3.6 m/s

= 403.2 m/s

I'm really curious, while being nice and respectful to the guy/girl asking this, if I give you a wrong answer to this, would you copy it and hand it to your instructor, a homework question, certain it's correct??

Still curious... Why would ANYONE ask a question like this out of simple curiosity, sitting in his back yard when these exact numbers whacked him in the head, had to go ask us...

Just trying to simplify, the Train is traveling 270 minutes.

Hope i helped... :)

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance=speed×time

405=speed×{4×1/2}

405=speed×2

Speed=405/2

Speed=202.5km/hr
