Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let speed of train be x time be your than by

distance =speed×time

distance=xy_______eq1

given that

condition 1

distance=(x+10)(y+3)

xy=(x+10)(y-2) (by eq1)

xy=xy-2x+10y-20

xy-xy=-2x+10y-20

0=-2x+10y-20

20=-2x+10y_______eq2

condition 2

distance=(x-10)(y+3)

xy=(x-10)(y+3) (by eq1)

xy=xy+3x-10y-30

xy-xy=3x-10y-30

0=3x-10y-30

30=3x-10y________eq3

by applying elimination method in eq1

and eq2 we get x=50

and putting x=50 in eq2

-2x+10y=20

-2×50+10y=20

-100+10y=20

10y=20+100

10y=120

y=120÷10

y=12

and

by eq1 distance=xy

=50×12

=600
