ANSWER :-

  • Speed = 60 km / h

GiVeN :-

  • Time (t) = 50 minutes

  • Speed (s) = 48 km/h

To FiNd :-

  • Speed of train to cover same distance in 40 minutes.

SoLuTiOn :-

Here,

Time (t) = 50 min. And Speed = 48 km/h,

So,

We have to change the time in hours or

speed in m/s,

So,

  • Time = 50 min

And we know that,

  • 60 minutes = 1 hour

So,

  • 50 minutes = 50/60 = 5/6 hrs

Now,

Let distance covered by train be x km,

Then,

We know that,

  • Distance = Speed × Time

So,

  • x = 48 × 5/6 = 40 km

Now,

  • Distance = x = 40 km

According To Question,

Speed to cover it in 40 minutes

  • 40 minutes = 40/60 = 2/3 hrs

We know that,

  • Speed = Distance/ Time

So,

 \implies \: Speed \: = \frac{40}{ \frac{2}{3} } = 40 \times \frac{3}{2} = \frac{120}{2} = 60 \: km/h

So,

It will cover the distance at speed of 60 km/h
