A train covers a distance of 360 km at a uniform speed. If the train had the speed been 5km/hour more,
it would have taken 48 minutes less for the journey. Find the original speed of the train​

Let the original speed be = x km/h

Distance = 360 km

Distance = Speed × Time

According to question, the equation formed is:

(x + 5)(360/x - 48/60) = 360

=> 360 - 8x/10 + 18000/x - 4 = 360

=> 8x^2 + 40x - 18000 = 0

=> x^2 + 5x - 2250 = 0

=> x^2 + 50x - 45x - 2250 = 0

=> x(x + 50) - 45(x + 50) = 0

=> (x - 45)(x + 50) = 0

=> x = 45, (-50)

Since speed can't be negative, speed = 45 km/h
