A train covers the first 50 km of its journey in 30 minutes, the next 20 km in another 10 mins and the last 80 km in 20 mins. Calculate the average speed of the train.

average speed=total distance divided by total time=150divided by 60=15upon 6

Distance covered in 30 min = 50km
" " " 10min =20km
next 20min = 80 km


total time travelled = 60minutes or 60/60 hrs.
=> 1hr.
total distance travelled = 150km

Average speed = total distance / total time taken

=> 150/1 => 150 km / hr

or 2.5km/min.
