Let its total distance be x km

Thrn in first half distance is x/2 km

Speed is 40km/hr

So,thr time is x/80 secs

Similarly in the second half time is

x/120 secs

Now, averagd speed =total distance/total time

=>average speed=x/(x/80+x/120)

=>average speed=x/(5x/240)

=>averagd speed=>x×240/5x

=>average spred=48km

=>average speed=x/
