Answer:

total distance is 110+205=315

totak time is 13.5+18.25=31.75

speed is=distance/time

315/31.75=9.92m/s

Answer: 20 m/s

Step-by-step explanation:

Speed of the train is equal in crossing both platform .

But we don't know the length of the train. First we have to find the length of the train.

Let the length of the train= X

Spee= distance/ time

(X+110)/13.5 = (X+205)/18.25

Cross multiply,

(X+110)×18.25 = (X+205)×13.5

18.25X+(110×18.25)= 13.5X+(205×13.5)

18.25X + 2007.5 = 13.5X + 2767.5

Take 'X' variables on one side

18.25 - 13.5X = 2767.5 - 2007.5

4.75 X=760

X = 760/4.75

X= 160

Length of the train is 160

Distance= lenth of train+ platform

= 160+110

=270

Speed of the train = distance/time

= 270/13.5

= 20 m/s
