Given : A train crosses a man going along the railway track at 6km/hr. The man could see the train upto 2minute.  At the time of disapperance the distance between train to man was 1.2 km while length of the train is 300meter.

To Find :  Speed of the train

Solution:

Person will start seeing train when engine comes in in front oh him  and at end he sees back of train

so relative distance traveled by train = Distance at time of disappearance + train length  = 1.2 km + 300 m  = 1500 m

As man was also going in same direction hence actual distance travelled by train = 1500 m + Distance traveled by man in 2 minutes

Distance traveled by man in 2 minutes  = 6  * 2/60  = 0.2 km = 200 m

Distance traveled by train =  1500 + 200 = 1700 m  = 1.7 km

Time = 2 minutes   =  1/30 hr

Speed of Train = 1.7/1/(30)  = 51 km/hr

Speed of Train = 51 km/hr
