Length of the train = 160m

Time taken by the train to cross a telegraph post = 10s

Speed of the train = Distance

Time

= 160m

10s

= 16m/s

= 16 × 18

5

= 57.6km/h

QUESTION :-

A Train crosses a Tele Graph post in 10 Seconds. If the Length of the Train is 160 m, Find the Speed of the Train

GIVEN :-

Length of the Train (s) = 160 Meters

Time Taken to cross a Tele Graph Post (t) = 10 Seconds

TO FIND :-

The Speed of the Train

SOLUTION :-

Using the Formula, Speed = \frac{Distance\:Travelled}{Time\:Taken}, we get -

\bold {Speed = \frac{160\:Meters}{10\:Seconds}}\\\\\bold {Speed = 16\:m/s}

Converting the Given Value to km/h, we get -

\bold {16\:m/s} = 16 * \frac{18}{5} = \frac{288}{5} = \bold {57.6\:km/h}

CONCLUSION :-

∴ The Speed of the Train is 16 m/s or 57.6 km/h
