HEY MATE

SPEED FROM A TO B= 50 KM/HR

SPEED FROM B TO A = 40 KM/HR

LET DISTANCE BE D

AND LET TIME BE T

TIME FROM A TO B = D/50

TIME FROM B TO A= D/40

TOTAL TIME TAKEN = D/50+ D/40

                                  = 9D/ 200

TOTAL DISTANCE = D+D

                                 = 2D

THEREFORE AVG SPEED = TOTAL DISTANCE /  TOTAL TIME TAKEN

                                            =  2D/9D/200

                                             = 2D * 200/ 9D

                                              = 400/ 9

                                              =    44.4 m/s (approx)
