A train having a length of 280 metres and travelling at 53 km/hr overtakes another train of length 370 metres in three minutes. What is the speed of the other train?

length of first train=280m

length of second train=370m

total distance traveled by other train=280+370=650m

first train also covered same distance.

speed of first train=53km/h

in m/s speed of first train=53*5/18=265/18

time taken=650*18/265s

therefore speed of second train=650*265/(650*18)=265/18m/s=265*18/(5*18)=53km/h
