A train is booked to run between two places 55km apart in 1hr 20min. If it travels for first 30km at 36km an hour, at what speed must it travel for the rest of the distance in order to complete the journey in time ?

distance=55km

speed=36km/hr for 30km

time=distance/speed=

30/36=5/6

then rest of the distance =

55-30=25km

time=80-50=30min=1/2 hr

speed for 25km=distance/time=

25km/1/2hr=

25km*2/1 hr=50km/hr

therefore, speed for rest of the distance=50km/hr.....
