a train is moving with a velocity 90 km/h it is brought to stop by applying brakes which produces retardation of 0.5 m second per square. find
1. velocity after 10 seconds
2. the time taken by train to come to rest

I have already solved the first part please solve the second part.. please.....

u =90 km/h= 25 m /s
v = 0 km/h= 0 m/s
a = 0.5 m/s²
t=?
from 1st equation of motion
v = u + at
0 = 25 + 0.5 x t
-25= 0.5t
-25÷ 0.5 =t
t =. -50

shreyavaish: and please solve the first part also... i just to see that whatever I did it is correct or wrong..
shreyavaish: please
genius85: answer for 1st part...
genius85: v= u+ at
genius85: v = 90+ -0.5 × 10
genius85: 90 -5
genius85: 85 km /h
genius85: done
